Hi Ray, welcome to Outdoorking. I haven't found a Colt 73113. I have found a Colt 7313 though. Here is how its cutter spindle goes together:
It looks to me as if the sleeve 8 goes over the shaft 6, a shim goes on each end of the sleeve, then the bearings go on from both ends to bear against the shims. See if the diagram matches the parts you have, and let us know.
grumpy, the serial on mine is definatly-73113- the cutter deck I have is not original but very close in arangement. The friction drive / pulley is different. Is there any chance of dating the machine from the B&S #.Also, most of the threads are NC and NF. no metric nonsence here.
Your Briggs engine was made on 4 January 1984. Usually mower manufacturers build engines into mowers only a few months after the engine is made, but this is not a reliable way to date the machine. At one time I believe Scott Bonnar took several years to build out an overstock situation with Kirby-Lauson engines.
We do not seem to have a parts list for a mower with that model number. This is from the only other Colt 5 parts list we have: This is the version from the Colt 5-8 Owner Manual:
Those are all we have. I'm told Colts are particularly difficult to document due to multiple versions existing.
Hi I have a colt 5 Ive just ripped the pulley assembly apart, got caught on a cut off fence post. Trying to replace part a00798 but an getting nowhere. Any comparative parts or even an updated part number would help please.
Yes there might not be much choice here Mejomee, adapt one from something else ,get a machinist to make one ,buy an old mower for parts or buy a pulley and cut the centre part out and weld your centre part in from the old pulley.
