hi folk

I have a Fastcut 21hp /34 and am confused.

the questions I have:

how many cork rings do I need to replace the old ones? 2 or 3? they are the larger ones

What is the selector bearing (forward and reverse) in the middle of the 2 pullies called, so I can order a new one?
the bearing with vulcanised rubber has come off

HI

So there are always only 2 corks in a greenfield drive. One for forward and one for reverse.

The center bearing is just a standard ball bearing, 6304 or something like that don't quote me, Numbers should be on the sides.
The rubber is just thin insertion rubber, wrapped around the bearing when you clamp it in. from memory its normally glued to the brackets that clamp it.

Thank you Nath

I found 3 corks on this unit..maybe some one got exited!

so 2 corks would be enough?

I have no idea why there would be 3 corks. were 2 stacked together?

There should be 1 cork glued to each drive plate, which engage against the bare aluminium of the large pulleys.

You would need to check the shims with the new ones in as it would have to be shimmed way out to clear an extra one, there should only be approx. 2mm clearance when assembled.
