[b]Howdy[/b] Troy From Maryborough Qld i have invested in an oldie 1980 same age as me wife...........A Rover Yard King model 29151-198 lol im hoping some one will have some spare parts needed, donated lol,,,,,,,, i joined the subscription tonight and got the manual cheers heaps OUTDOORKING no1 would supply me the manual even rung rover they said they don't have it... A store had the diagram of the model and wouldn't show me i asked about a spring an its location to where it attaches too its 'the spring in picture' He goes it goes no where....I said ok Rover put a spring just for show wont be returning to that shop... please tell me if you know where it goes to i seriously don't understand the manual brake down my bad,,,,,,,
Also 36 A12547 Nose Support L.H. and 39 A12548 Nose Support R.H. keep coming apart when brake is applied
the last question i found a spring on the deck broken at 1 end its about 20 cm long with 2 hook ends well i broken cant find location nor source another as rover don't make it an bearing Centre don't have the same style ill add picture soon cheers an thanks heaps for the manual well worth the 8 bucks cheers troy[i][/i]

Welcome. I believe you have a Lawn King, Which is much, much newer than 1980, It would be a 2002-2007ish model. Last of the true Rovers before the clipper (made by Murray) came out. I remember them brand new in the show room.
As for the spring in the picture, after studying the manual, I reckon that spring goes forward and attaches to something up near the brake pedal? I cant make out half the part numbers. It would be a tension spring to tighten the belt going from the engine to the hydro, a belt that disengages when you push in the brake.
As for why those bit are coming apart, I am not very familiar with the underside of this model, only ever worked on one or 2, but have a look for something seized or in the wrong place.
As for the spring on the deck, There are only 3 down there, the 2 big long ones that pull the deck backwards, and there will be a smaller one going from the tensioner pulley bracket to a bolt over near the left rear wheel.
Genuine parts for these are certainly extinct, have been since MTD bought rover, so if you cant heat and bend a new loop on the end you would have to find a mower shop that might have something similar from another brand.
