Hello ODK history lovers

The Villiers G series engines were 70cc in capacity and were
offered in convection-only and shrouded fan-forced designs.

They were used extensively on both Australian reel and rotary
lawnmowers mounted vertically and horizontally.

This record is for the 4G version of the G series.
The thing that made the 4G different was its carburetion and
fuel system.

To my knowledge, the 4G was only used on one lawnmower sold
in Australia – The first version of the 16” Qualcast Side-wheel
Power Mower of the 1950s [see Related Reading].

My best guess is that the 4g was not a commercial success,
being too temperamental – and overly complex - for reliable operation.

TO BE CONTINUED …

PART TWO SPARE PARTS MANUAL
This Villiers 4G Parts Manual was generously supplied by member
dougie995. A big thank you to Doug for helping others and adding
to the record.

Typical for imported engines, this manual was a multi-language one.
I have edited it to include just the English pages.

Note that the carby and fuel system (including fuel tank and pump)
were designed and made by Villiers.
