G'day all,
As were 'church key' style drink can openers.

My old man went to a fruit industry conference once, and he brought home a promo 'hangover kit' that had one of those in it.
Also a small tin of Letona brand tomato juice, Alka-Seltzers, and aspirin tablets!

The jingle printed on the box went like this;

Lift up your head
Offa the bed
You haven't been hit
Just brightly lit!

Open me up
I have what you need
The means for survival
From Letona, and Reed!

There were also very funny 'Directions for Use', but I've forgotten those...

Hello Jack.

I made a slightly smaller one that I used to mount on my dad's Waltons store brand mid arch with the same wheels in 1987. I derived endless amusement watching the little miniaturized mechanism stay upright as the wheel spun away. In certain light, it looked incredibly like a real one I saw on an AEC bus hub!!
You might find this merchandise of interest, including a watch, glass and even a frisbee!!
These pics were sent to me by a nephew of the founding brothers of Engler Instruments of New Jersey USA, who I got in contact with seeking more information on the company and it's hubodometer. He has the same surname as it happens.

Here's a couple of the real things. The red one is to signify its in kilometres instead of miles like the black one. The red one dates from 1985 and the black one from 1973. Stemco, a Texas based wheel end products manufacturer, took over Engler Instruments in the mid 80s and placed their oval symbol at the top in place of the "ei" Engler Instruments logo. They carried on with the red for KM black for miles practise for a few more years before changing to a white face across the board which they are still making and see on truck trailers and some buses like in the picture.

Some of my buses I have displayed in my room. There are at least as many more stored away including one I have modified the length of!

Here's what I am running on the Laser at the moment.

I like making useful things out of pallet timber. There's a lot of junky designs on the net. I make a 2 seater lounge, comfortable. You need cushions.... And another interest is making burners out of old gas bottles.... And last week I stumbled across a great design that really works. A big opening in front that lets air in, and you turn the bottle around if you want to slow the fire down.....Just for cold mornings in Bundy, it gets to 5C once in a while... cheers speedy

Trendy cafes would love your creations speedy. Maybe paint them with cans of Rustoleum haha. Seriously, tastefully done.

Got a few pics etc to post up about mine; but I'm 'under the pump' just a bit ATM, in getting my one man business launched, through to the 'cruisy stage'.

I've managed to attach the full size thing. I doubt even this Mayfair dating from the 70s has done this many km.
