Evening all, Not much experience with tecumseh engines. The fly wheel key seems to have an odd shape. Does it appear that this has been sheered?? The engine had the symptoms of a broken key with pull cord kickback but really jot sure. Ill replace it anyway since the flywheel is off.

Make sure the blade carrier is tight, if not that will cause severe kickback. As long as the keyway is holding the fanwheel in position the timing will be fine but replace the key just to be sure

That key looks perfectly normal for a Tecumseh.
