This really bugs me when you have a piece of equipment that works fine but it is missing one vital part. I'm sure we have all been there. All that is missing on this one is the fuel cap.
Norm, the new homelites still have the same cap. Last time I looked, bunnings had the caps available for $8. Unless they changed the thread on those tiny little 250ml tanks
If Auspost weren't such thieving bast**ds, I would send you one of the several I have floating around
This is why I grab fuel caps off some discarded machines I see from time to time. This was the reason I finally solved the leaking fuel cap on my 15 yo Kaaz trimmer recently. The rubber seal out of a cap I found from another machine fit in my cap and it worked.
NormK, you could try jamming a nitrile disposable glove in there but obviously you can't sell it that way.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
Hi Tyler, I have a big pile of snippers here and not one cap would fit it and there was probably half a dozed Homelites. I have fitted a later tank but it has taken me a few hours to make up the mounting brackets. Anyway keeps the grey matter spinning and another snipper can go up the road and every one gone gives me more space. I had not bothered fixing them before so the pile kept growing. At least I can dump the ones that are not worth fixing. It was a stupid tank anyway because the fill neck was almost horizontal and cap seal had to be a really good seal and then the cap would also have a breather in it so it would have leaked fuel all the time
