Job: shim/spacer up drive drums on shaft so they don't come apart thus losing drive. i have an unusually tight rear roller drive sprocket that i am trying to remove. Yes, its a left hand thread and i am trying to loosen it by rotating clockwise [looking at sprocket from the outside]. It won't budge and I'm reluctant to use heat. Any ideas guys ?........rgrds, rogerw

I do have some ideas and comment ...

I guess you've read what I have said about the imperial.
It was a copy of the Ransomes Mk 7 Minor that came to AUS
via NZ's Morrison version.

The final drive sprocket has a LH thread.
Generally, this can be released by a piece of soft wood and
soft mallet blow to the sprocket..

A plan B would be a fabricated tool to grab the sprocket and
using an impact wrench for shock loading. Norm's experience shines
through there.

It is annoying that Ransomes had thought this through, and
had a solution. They slotted the other side of the roller shaft, and had
a cut-out access point on the RH side. This enable the gripping of the
roller shaft.



Victa did not do this.
Plan A first. I hope that makes sense.
