Hello ODK History Lovers
News Cuttings was Victa’s official news publication to its dealer network.
Probably introduced in the late 1950s, it would be no more than a few
pages in length.

This August 1964 issue is of interest because it, again, depicts Victa’s
successes in its halcyon days.

Page 1 trumpets its success in marketing: The Hoover Awards. Note the
Victa Red Phone and the Victa marketing to export markets. This was
when Victa was a true international company. Alas, not so now.

Victa was a progressive company back then – with Page 1 reporting of
a woman attending a Victa rotary mower service school. Brilliant!

Page 2 has three articles, the significant one being about Harry Noble’s
Brisbane dealership and its reaching sales of 10,000 Victas! Noble sold
Victas have appeared on these great forums … mainly because they
attached an agency plate to their 1950s Victa Rotomos.



Page 3 has interesting bits. Consider the Mower supplements for country papers article.
This is early evidence of Victa wanting to be more than a mower maker.
“We’re Mowing In Lebanon” is another timely reminder of what Victa was in its golden days.

Page 4 presents Service Guide No 24 about constructing a work bench.
There are the usual Short Cuts and Victa Wise cartoon.
