Hello ODK members,

I have acquired a very nice B&W ad from a USA magazine.
It is from 1958, produced by a power company, and it depicts
a futuristic conception of the mower.

The illustration shows an electric mower that cuts grass, edges and hedges.
It is controlled by clean cut Mr John Doe - Mr USA - by a microphone.
John relaxes on his patio lounge in the foreground.

I like this collectable, and it is somewhat accurate in its prediction isn't it?
Robotic mowers are increasing their presence and the prices are coming down.
We are increasing our reliance on electricity; away from fossil fuels.

I'm not sure, though, that I'd like an 'electric gardener'.
I actually quite like mowing, edging, and hedging!
[Well, one out of three ain't bad.]

All very interesting.

This North American print illustration caught the eye of
one Australian lawnmower maker ... Guess who ...
