G'day Kye

Kye, I thing you would have been focusing on school and
your future. I certainly understand the issues, and great to hear
from you.

I am no expert here, but the brilliant JP adopted a clever system,
whereby the reel could be removed without disturbing the frame.

The issue with the design is with irregular servicing.
This mower has sat for a long time.

The drive shaft runs through the length of the reel, and it has become stuck.

In my case, I removed the shaft by protecting the thread with the nut.
A wooden block and hammer successfully removed the shaft.

For the folks at home, this was a clever system: -
A Villiers freewheel clutch gave the reel free movement for
back-lapping. Copper rivets acted as sheer points to prevent
transmission damage if the reel hit a solid obstacle.

The issue here is the cross shaft binding on the reel tube.
How do you get 3-2 free of 3-1?

I hope someone can help.
