Hello Members, Bruce, and Mods

I wish all a happy and festive 2018 Christmas and 2019 New Year.

The biggest change to ODK occurred in 2017: the introduction
of A small membership fee - $5 USA dollars - that we believed
could future-proof this OutdoorKing Project. There were doubters ...
with one contributor suggesting we were undertaking a titanic voyage.

It wasn't that voyage. Membership is strong, and there is no shortage
of folks wanting to share their stories and help others. ODK has
amassed decades of valuable and irreplaceable information and it
continues to do so. Thank you all!

We are as sure as ever that these forums be led by MEMBERS.
We are so impressed by members who have 'given-back' over many years.
We have had amazing help this year - from folks far away ... from Tasmania
to Tennessee.

The reality is, ODK is mainly a transient group of forums - with most folk
coming for a single purpose and then leaving. Many members just want
access to gallery images and attachments without needing to say anything.

But some join ... because they have something to ask. Regular posters
have more to say, and give back. They embrace the Christmas spirit of
giving. I should also say here that a vast number of folks browse the
free content on these forums every day of the year. Every word is
freely available in any ODK forum.

I feel ODK is committed to the forum format - because it can deliver more
in-depth observation, commentary and analysis. It encourages thoughtful
posts, rather than stream-of-consciousness one liners that offer nothing
and go nowhere.

We personally thank the specialist members who have frequented the
forums this year, giving quality, expert advice time and time again.

I won't single out members here - you know who you are. Thank You!

A big thank you to the man they call Bruce for ODK. His vision, decades
ago, has built up a huge cache of valuable repair and historical information.

A big thank you to the Moderators who oversee ODK. We do not intrude unless
we have something to say, or have something to do. Sincere thanks to Alan,
Doug, Manfred, Paul and Theo.
