Ok so no suggestions, my plan is to cut a square hole around the boss with the grinder, then with the blade carrier out of the way I can get the puller over the boss and remove it. It was just something I couldn't believe. Another odd one I came across yesterday was a Stihl Viking push mower with a 1 inch shaft. The owner claims to have bought it new many years ago and had always been serviced by the dealer. I was staggered to find 7 washers inside the blade boss to get the blade bar 11 mm lower. That normally wouldn't surprise me what did surprise me was that he claimed it had only ever been serviced by the dealer
