G'day all ODK repairers and advisers.
Great thanks to
Mod BB for identifying the principles here.
Many thanks for the genuine and intelligent replies too.
The modern world is
litigious and we can't avoid this here at
ODK.
We all know the ridiculous situations and over-reactions that might arise today.
This is a crazy,confused World.
However, I support the idea of
'best practice' as it is viewed by manufacturers.
We cannot endorse any repair a manufacturer would not
when safety becomes an issue.
'Common sense' has become such an old-fashioned term.
With vintage machinery, some advise must be cautionary.
We need to spell out basic cautions that we otherwise would
implicitly understand.
I ask the highly competent repairers who are members of these great forums to
consider the lowest common denominators of society who might misconstrue your
advise. Hence: the
Darwin Awards scenario.
ODK exists on the generosity of members helping other members.
Please do not stop doing that; but please consider Darwin's children.
Thanks for understanding.-----------------------------------
