The clutch corks on my Greenfield are well past their use by date after years of heavy duty mowing and towing.
The drive pedal engages forward drive with the pedal close to the horizontal, which becomes very painful to operate! I've tried turning the adjuster underneath next to the engine but I can't bring the pedal back far enough so I presume the problem is due to worn out cork linings.
Are the corks still available?
Also, what is the best glue I should use to attach the cork to the disc?
I have plenty of the Heiniger Emery Glue that is used to attach the emery cloth to shearing comb & cutter grinders. Would that work? It is applied as a PVA style glue onto the steel or alloy disc and the emery cloth is placed on top & then clamped overnight. The old glue peels off like RTV sealant.
