Yes at least Honda is overseeing the manufacturing with their engines.
A few years ago there were Hondas for sale with the serial numbers that had been ground off as they are only sold for the China market. These should be better than a clone as they are real Honda's but illegally exported.
I have a new Millers Falls GX for a project but I want to pull it apart to have a look and check that the conrod bolts are tight! Comparing it to a real Honda, the governor and hand throttle mechanism is very flimsy.
Maybe you could buy a Millers Falls head and piston to rebuild the genuine GX?
