The Suzukis are a great motor, but they have a carby with a lot of small passages in it.
And owners will use the cheapest grade of petrol, with high gum forming tendencies.

This isn't a good combo, when a mower usually sits through the winter with old fuel left in it. The solution is to do a very thorough de-gum of the carby, but it's a pretty fiddly job.
