PART TWO � Patent 12254 of 1955This patent was taken out by
J. Meek, G. Dumas, and H. Horner � the directors
of Villager Mowers, and the same patentees as for the
�Twin-Cooling� patent (see Related Reading).
As a side note, the patent clearly expressed the idea of
angle of attack in
blade design � the advanced blade had to be lower than the retarded blade edge
for best efficiency. This was built into the design.
This patent appears to be very close to the first production Villagers. I also
point out that the wheels, as illustrated � all metal �billy-cart� ones � appear
to be similar to the ones on early machines.
