Rick, first thing I would ask is what is your desired purpose for it, to restore or to mow the grass. If it is just for mowing the grass I wouldn't worry too much about the motor till it gave you problems, then just put another motor on it,whatever yo can find, Briggs and Stratton, 2 stroke Victa, that is the good thing with those Victa bases. As long as the left hand corner where the handlebar is mounted to the chasis is not rusted out and you have a catcher for it you are good to go
