Just a quick one on this subject, I'm wondering if the blade was sharpened off the sole plate then fitted back onto to it, thus this would most certainly explain the bow in the blade.

The Bedknife should always be sharpened while firmly mounted on to the soleplate assembly, then fitted back into the mower.
