Had a look at the post that I think you are referring to (a green Victa mower with a white Briggs and Stratton motor?).

The starter on my motor (motor has a different type number from Erik's) is different to the starter shown in Erik's photo

My starter (held together here by the pair of vice grips to stop the spring unwinding) is shown in the photo below in its proper position.

Can you tell me where I can get one of these starters?
