Hi Rolla16v,
2K colours can be transposed over to other formats of paint. That's been done for years now with all the different types of paints that have been developed over the years.
Honestly though I can't see any advantages of going to 2K over standard Hammertone enamels, the only thing I can see is a drastic increase in cost as 2K is way over the top in price point, just ask most Crash Repairers (Smash Repairers if you're in Sydney)about how the paint companies are ripping them blind with over $100 a litre.
Hi Marty,
I agree totally that there's no point in using 2k instead of a standard hammertone enamel - especially for the purists such as yourself, as the factory paint certainly wasn't 2k. I have some different plans and applications however, where 2k is better value (even at $100/L) and more suitable.
It sounds like you've been very thorough with your investigations and thank you so much for your efforts

It will be absolutely fantastic if you can get the colours matched and kept on file by a major paint supplier for all future restorers to use. Can't wait to hear how you go next week!

Thanks again

Michael
