Hi Mick, as this machine appears to be all complete and original and running well, you now have the dreaded question in front of you....to conserve or restore.
I have the same decision to make with the 1958 ATCO 20" that I recently scored.....part of me would love to see it in 'as new' condition...new stickers and paint; but as it has been looked after well by the original owner since new, I have decided to conserve it in its present state.

I would, if I were you, consider removing the cylinder reel and soleplate with the bottom blade attached and take both to an engineer /machinist and have the reel spin ground and he could supply you with a new bottom blade and fit it for you, if needs be.
The cylinder reel bearings could be replaced at this time, because serviceable bearings are absolutely necessary to maintain the correct clearance and consequently the quality of cut.
This is what I will be doing with my ATCO shortly. wink
Mick, congrats on a great score!
cheers2
