Hi grumpy, as I have said, I agree with you in principle, but what I'm saying refers to
professional greenskeepers "touching -up" between spin-grinds.
Most of them I know personally have 2 or 3 spare reels on hand, one in the machine, one on hand as a spare, and one at the engineer being re-ground...they also have spare knifeblades ready to go at any given time.
These machines are used on Bowling greens at very fine cutting tolerances and no foreign object damage.
