New to the forum... but am about to do something unmentionable if I can't make some sense of this soon!

I have a 160cc Victa Slasher, I've 3 virtually complete 160 engines to choose from, all points models. I've dis-assembled and reassembled the best components together but have now lost my spark (literally and metaphorically). I can only think it's something I've done wrong as there were at least two working ignitions prior to this rebuild.

I can swap between the three complete ignition's with no joy. I can try all combinations of flywheels / ignitions with no joy.
I can run the cut-out wire to the throttle or not, still no joy. It's years since I've had to play around with points and so don't have any sort of diagnostic multi-meter type thing (and am too stupid to know what to do with it anyway nowadays).

Is there any step by step process I can go through to establish that the 3 components on my ignition base-plate (coil - condenser - points) are OK and somehow start to make some sense of this.

Appreciate your heeeeeelp!

Cheers
