You can pop ignition modules onto S70 engines too, however, when doing this, I prefer (if they still make them) the blue Mighty Atom chip, Just seems to woek better.
Yeah, Your right with the starters, those alloy ones are a hell of alot better, Ive got one on the shelf waiting for the right mower to come along!
The series 80 is not a bad engine, I just get irritated with the damn starters, the electronic ignitoin is an advantage though, as is the external coil, much easier to access.
Still, I'm a series 70 fan, mainly becase i really do enjoy the G3 carby, it may not be as quick and simple to service as the G4/LM carbies, but I just like it!
