Paul,
In answer to your questions:

1. I have had the similiar problem with trying to get it off and the only thing that I can suggest is to spay it with WD40 and let it soak over night as well you could try hitting it with a brass dolly.

2. The points could be pitted or dirty (try to clean them up). If they are Ok then I would be replacing the condensor.

3. I am still waiting for a reply regarding the rubber handle (it is a real hard one to get) and the 'E' plate I should be able to get depending on which one it is (is the coil a brown colour or black?).

Sorry for the delay but locating some of the old parts can be hard.
