Japanese manufactured for both, that's what I am led to believe. This design is approximately 10 years old. Both engines are excellent from what I have been told. Chinese Honda's have only been exported for the last 5-6 years from the info I have. As I said in the previous post, now the choice is up to you. Viva La HONDA!
