Your Rancher model was first made in the late sixties and this model was also made in the early seventies hjpvan, so you could check the numbers on the engine cowl if it;s still got the original motor.

There are also a lot of Youtube Vids you could watch on tuning the carby and adjusting the fuel mixture screw but it's covered in the Briggs manual that I put the link to.
