Hi all,
Picked up a 'Sprinter' mower with a Briggs and Stratton 300series "Made in the USA" engine. Pulled it a part to give it a good clean but can't figure out the model number.
There's no stamped information on the engine at all and the only information I have are from two stickers (see pictures)
one sticker as a serial number and QR code, the other sticker has details on engine family, but I'm having issues locating specific information from the engine family sticker.
I watched a video on the Briggs and Stratton U.S website which mentions scanning the QR code to get info, but I've tried three apps on my phone and none give any information, just a number, when searched, gives no results.

Doing a search for "Briggs and Stratton 300 series" give me this page and mentions "model 08P5". Searching this model on the B&S website gives thousands of results.

Another thing I came across and didn't expect it when pulling the engine a part, was a little section under the flywheel with two inlets/outlets, one of which goes to the air filter, the other seems to be exit only from the engine. What is this? Something to do with decompression ? There's sealant allowing the metal cover (see pic) to physically bond to it, is this just a gasket sealer ?
