Hello all,
Yes, a final-years HD 25 Rover slasher.
This is one from the final years of production in the 1980s.
There was a concerted effort to make an un-safe mower safer!

Thanks to the Western Group for identifying it.
Max knows his stuff.

Note how the belt guard also covers the drive dogs [images above].
This is an hilarious anachronism - an engineering throw-back.
I mean, rotating steel dogs acting directly on pneumatic tyres!

The thing is that the 'Posi-Track' system worked well!

[Rover tried to claim this was Australia's first ride-on in about 1962]
Why? they put a sulky seat behind it



This machine stayed in production for three decades!
It was simple, but robust and a favourite with municipal bodies.
Brilliant!
