Hi PGW,
Gee some of these people certainly know how to bluff buyers,
using a line like "purchased new this year", sounds like he was born yesterday, as these were last made around 1971. BTW I feel that this particular one may well be a converted Electric machine to petrol and that engine has a Reduction Gear drive attached to it.
Like I said previously, here in Adelaide that would just sit there for ever more as no one would even pay 3K for a 20 inch Series 1 Model 45 that's had the full treatment done to it, so a Supercut would be right out of the ball park here.
Basically Supercuts would fetch around $300 tops in this neighbourhood and for that it's got to be a mighty fine example. I do know of one that just recently busted the Adelaide glass ceiling at $320 though, but in saying that it was an 18 inch Villiers powered unit made in the mid to late 1960's.
Cheers,
BB.
