I've been using Spearhead (Bayer) and/or Bow and Arrow (Turf Culture) for the weeds. Only had to use it in a few spots this season. It won't touch winter grass (Poa) though, so I've been pulling it out by hand.
I fear next year that my work will be cut out for me if I don't use a pre emergent herbicide come autumn. At least of the verge anyway, all the neighbour's are riddled with weeds this year. I've actually taken over mowing one of other verge lawns, and I use a separate mower for that job only!
Come autumn I'll be spraying down some Barricade from Syngenta to get ahead of any winter weeds germinating.
