Thank you all for the replies. I gave it a wash and there's more red paint under that dirt. I poured some fuel in the tank and tried to see if it would start but no luck. The air filter was only held on a couple of threads so perhaps the last owner had tried to get it running too and threw it out in frustration.
As I was washing off the layer of dirt the user instructions revealed themselves in front of the seat then they self destructed disappointingly.
I'm undecided what to do with it. It has plenty of paint on the front half but it's almost completely gone from the rear, possibly from being in an open shed with it's arse in the weather. The deck only has one crack and no chunks missing.
I was only thinking the other day as I mowed the lawn on my 10 year old Husky ride on how much more interesting it would be to mowing with a vintage ride on.
I do have a Farmall A but I haven't been able to locate a belly mower for it here in Australia.
Yes Greenfielder that is a forward control landrover project that has appeared in the back yard, a series 2b with a 4.4 Leyland v8 and dual cab.
