VC-160 Restoration
This Restoration was dome some time ago; When I was quite young my father passed, and not long after, so did the mower he had bought from his uncle years before. After this, mum used to get the lawn mowed by a local service, so the old mower sat, dead in the garage for tears, then at 13, I decided to try and fix it.
I ripped it a part, and stored all the smaller parts in a cupboard behind the shed, some of it near the cupboard, and the rest in the shed, then Mum threw out the cupboard without checking inside it, and the now half disembowelled mower was left to sit and wait while I tried to find parts (I new little about them at this point) as I brought home old Victa, after old Victa, I ended up with a pile of mowers and parts (all incorrect, I had ended up wit older 125cc mowers, and a few Power torques) and the VC-160 was left rotting away at the bottom of the heap.
about 8 years ago now, i got back into the mowers, tracked down the right parts, and fixed it all up, and its now in regular use, and moved out of home with me a year after restoration, The full base assembly (Excluding Wheels), Dress Cowl, Starter, Blade Disc, Throttle, Intake, Tank & Badges are original to dads model, the engine was not thrown, however the cylinder mounts were threaded, so the entire engine is new.
Thats how i got started...
Enjoy!

See it always starts from a family member.[Censored] those family members for showing us the light to a hobby that takes up so much space.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Thats for sure, in my case, the mother that gave me my dads old mower and started it all (not surprisingly my only mother) also had the greatest objections to the space taken up by the hobby!
Cheers Ty

One thing I really like about this forum is seeing something come literally back from the scrap heap, to become a serviceable mower in original condition. Well done, Ty

I have to admit, its not fully original, the engine is correct, but it has the wrong shade of paint, and the wrong rear wheels, its throttle adjuster also has an interesting repair job, but i have decided a while ago to keep this one as it is, as it was my first restoration, and not bad for being started at all of about 13, and finished at 15!
Cheers Ty
