I believe Kwikthatch was made by Kwik products, who make line trimmer heads and lines in the USA.
I also heard from mower agents that Briggs & Stratton brought the Kwikthatch into the NZ/AUS markets.
The tines are available from All Mower spares, which is good to know.

Mighty Mac make also make a de-thatcher to the same spec with the nylon tines. This is how I have found a relevant parts manual and operators manual for the machine.

I can't wait to use it in spring on my Kikuyu lawn.

Because of the long dry grass, it did have a tendancy to sometimes flick the grass over the top, I cured this by bending the tynes on about a 60 deg angle rearwards, about 75mm from the end. As in the pic below.

I would recommend the Howard heavy duty slasher as they stand up to rough work. We have used them in the past and found that even if you hit bricks or rocks etc they don't fall apart.

The Jarrett brand seem to be not as well built and the Superior brand is another good brand that we have used in the past.

Also is it possible to obtain data on the service limits for these engines or better still workshop manuals for them?

Lastly is there anything wrong with using a fully synthetic multigrade oil in them? I am considering using this type of oil in my one to increase engine life an was thinking of using mobil one
