This is a necessarily large A4 size brochure of four pages.
It is also a clever brochure because it has crease lines that
intended it be folded in half longitudinally so as to give us eight panels!

Why? The reader is invited to “Take the broad view” and unfold it.
It’s a clever trick that makes a smaller range look greater than it is.

This brochure is from my collection and it is in good condition.

The big draw-back with mains-electric machines was …
the electric cord.

That idea tethered the machine to a household power outlet
and brought with it a clear danger to safe operation.

Folks had to be user competent and cognisant of
the dangers in using mains-electric mowers.

The much safer battery-electric mowers first appeared in the
1960s and Ransomes must have been one of the first players
in this market. This was Ransomes first battery electric mower!

The MK3 Mercury used the Chassis of the MK 1 and Mk2, but
with an enclosed battery and motor box. This was a streamlined,
elegant lawnmower. It was ahead of its day.

Ransomes MINOR 18 Inch

The Ransomes 18”MK5 Minor is the rarest one in Australia.
Essentially having the same engineering DNA as the minor Minors,
it additionally featured a secondary clutch for the landroll.
A very nice, usable lawnmower of high quality.

The respected Old Lawnmower Club notes that the powered
Rollmo has similarities to the Qualcast 16 of that period.

The stylistic similarity between the Rollmos and the Qualcasts
is undeniable. In fact, it has not gone un-noticed that Qualcast
acquired Arundel, Coulthard & Co. in the 1950s …

In Australia, there is little evidence of the powered Rollmo.

I have a parts list for Overgreen Marks 3, 4, and 5.
I regret that I do not have other manuals.

I do have a copy of a 1938 Ransomes Catalogue page for the Overgreen.
It certainly proves that the Overgreen was an inter-war design,
and my best guess is that this was a Mark 1 or Mark 2 design...



I date my Parts list to the immediate post-war years …
the late 1940s and then 1950s. These years covered Marks 3,
4, and 5. Note the change to using the Sturmey-Archer engine.

This parts list is in average condition and from my collection.
I make it available for member viewing or as a high-resolution download.

The Motor Triple was an instant success, and the powered
triple formula remains an industry norm.

The most obvious changes to the triple – over the years -
clearly relate to power plant offerings. The most obvious new
power units were the Swiss Motosacoche M.A.G. diesel and
4-cycle petrol engines.

Note the new, smaller triple … the Junior Motor Triple, and the
increased range of accessories.
