			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">PART TWO – The Brochure</span></span><br>This is a necessarily large A4 size brochure of four pages. <br>It is also a clever brochure because it has crease lines that <br>intended it be folded in half longitudinally so as to give us eight panels!<br><br>Why? 			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">PART THREE – Mercury MK3 - Battery Electric</span></span><br>The big draw-back with mains-electric machines was … <br>the electric cord. <br><br>That idea tethered the machine to a household power outlet <br>and brought with it a clear danger to safe operation. <br><br>Folks had to be user competent and cognisant of <br>the dangers in using mains-electric mowers.<br><br>The much safer <span style="font-weight: bold">battery-electric mowers</span> first appeared in the <br>1960s and Ransomes must have been one of the first players <br>in this market. This was Ransomes first battery electric mower!<br><br>The <span style="font-weight: bold">MK3 Mercury</span> used the Chassis of the MK 1 and Mk2, but <br>with an enclosed battery and motor box. This was a streamlined, <br>elegant lawnmower. 			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">PART FOUR – Manuals</span></span><br>I have a parts list for <span style="font-style: italic">Overgreen </span><span style="font-weight: bold">Marks 3, 4, and 5. </span><br>I regret that I do not have other manuals.<br><br>I do have a <span style="font-style: italic">copy </span>of a <span style="font-weight: bold">1938 Ransomes Catalogue</span> page for the <span style="font-style: italic">Overgreen</span>. <br>It certainly <span style="font-style: italic">proves </span>that the Overgreen was an<span style="font-style: italic"> inter-war design,</span> <br>and my best guess is that this was a<span style="font-weight: bold"> Mark 1</span> or <span style="font-weight: bold">Mark 2</span> design...<br><br><img src="https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.auhttps://outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/images/jack/ransomes_overgreen/1938_overgreen_p33.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/><br><br>I date my Parts list to the immediate <span style="font-style: italic">post-war</span> years … <br>the late 1940s and then 1950s.
