Hi CM,

I know people are always looking for Victa 18 fuel tank Decals as the ones on eBay have spelling mistakes.

Yes it can be time consuming if you can't just copy a good decal and then have to fix a faded and damaged decal
before printing.

Good to know you are manufacturing the decals as no one else is doing the ones you have.

Cheers
Max.

Painted or original?

Hi Sean,

It's definitely not an original colour.

You can tell it's not original from the bad paint job also the original badges after the centre colours are painted in, the last part to be painted is the
silver so looking at the back of the badge the whole badge at the back should be silver (grey) and this is red and not grey at the back..

If the red was original there would be grey paint on the top of of the red paint at the back.

Cheers
Max.

I think you may end up spending more for the decal Vm than what the Rover Baron is worth ,I must have scrapped about 40
Rovers recently ,all with good alloy bases and a few Baron mowers ,I paid $5 each for them and advertised them at $5. just
to move them on but no takers so scrapped the bases.

There are a lot of old Rovers missing the catchers and that kind of makes them worthless ,I had one Barron that
was slightly modified to fit a Victa Sports thumb latch catcher.

I just discovered the date of manufacture for this mower's cutting disc, giving an indicator when the mower itself was likely made. December 1985 to early 1986 most likely.

Thanks for the information and prompt response Nath. I'll get a can of that and run a test piece to see how it matches. I wasnt planning on doing a full repaint, just spot patch n paint, but if its a lighter shade I might need to think about a complete respray.

Yes Beech, I have had a similar result with it - just strips it right off. An older guy I know bought a few 44gal drums when a business closed in the 80s and soaked a tonne of parts in it before it became so saturated it lost effectiveness.

For any WA guys, Mirco Brothers of Neerabup and Bibra Lake have molassis by the kg for $1.6/kg. About the cheapest I have found over here so far.

BYO bottles or they also have a 15l pail with lid for $4.

Plus, if you want epsom salt for the lawn for spring, its $25 for 25kg. Tried to calculate the cost it would be at bunnings but typing 6.85/kg x 25 into the calculator made my eyes water too much haha

Oh wow 20mins is spot on.
I plan on keeping this cammando. So I want it immaculate. I'm in the northern suburbs and it's absolutely freezing! Thanks for that. I'm planning on going grey as it was that already. Any tips on getting the metal parts shiny again? Like the height adjuster the axles etc? Buffer disc? It's almost like the axles need to be flappered obviously years of abuse there get dented and scratched and loose that shiny look
