Hi Max
Yes you’re right regarding the g4 carb, the air intake is on the lh side and it has no primer bulb, it is also an export model as I'm in NZ. I am fairly sure it is original but the cap on the air cleaner is missing. I have been doing a bit of reading and i think it may be a V174. I plan to get it running properly once I get a few other projects finished.

Reproduction Brass Nuts for Victa Brass Nut Carby

Hi All,

Is there any interest on this forum for some reproduction brass nuts for the Victa model 1 carby? I found a machinist in Sydney that can make them for about $60 a piece. Picture of the sample he made me using the original as a reference. Picture attached below. We have interest for 40 units so far through facebook but if quantity increases cost per unit will come down also.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a starter cup to work Norm ,I think the later model starters are a better working starter but
I do like the original look of the earlier starters,.I once bought a burnt out $15. Victa 18 mower with melted base and carby
because the cowl and recoil starter were still good.

Yes that pawl holder still looks usable Blue and QSR has shown what they look like when worn out and the pawl
can drop out.

This is the first time I've tried these eBay pawls and QSR is right they are a little loose fitting compared with the
original solid ones that is in his second pic.

The eBay one is flat metal that is rolled for the round pivot ,I was thinking of hitting a small screw driver into
the round part to expand it a little for a better fit.

Cheers
Max.

Victa 24 F/C crank pulleys

Ok got an answer for this problem. I found a motor here that somebody had used an aluminium pulley and machined it to take a boss off the F/C and grub screwed it to the boss I think they probably heat shrunk the pulley onto the boss. Anyway this is an easy fix tor what could have been the end of my last few 24's. At this stage I am short of 1 slider plate but it is not worth me getting just one laser cut.
